THE SKY IS FALLING! Or was it the Ceiling?

The law firm of Michael J. Redenburg, Esq. P.C. successfully settled a woman’s case after she was injured when a Bronx, New York ceiling came crashing down on her head. At the time of the incident, she was working as a home health aide in New York City. Landlords are out to make money and don’t always take care of the homes where their tenants live or return phone calls about complaints. They might just say things like, “Log-in to the app, and we’ll get to it when we get to it…”

The firm’s client had been caring for an elderly woman in her Bronx apartment when she was hit in the head by an unknown object. When she came to her senses and looked up, she noticed a large piece of the apartment ceiling was missing and laid on the ground near her feet. The client called her employer and was told to wait there until the home health aide agency could send someone else to care for their elderly patient. Once another home health aide arrived, the firm’s client was transported to a local hospital where she received emergency medical care. The law firm’s client suffered a head injury, bilateral shoulder injury as well as neck and back pain; the extent of her injuries have not yet been determined. However, she has been advised by medical professionals to remain out of work, at least until MRI results have been obtained.
