Trial Imminent: Woman Boarding MTA Bus B41 Dragged Down the Street

While Attempting to Board an MTA Bus in Brooklyn, NY, Bus Driver Closes Doors on Woman and Drags Her Down the Street

The Law Firm of Michael J. Redenburg, Esq., PC is currently representing a woman who sustained severe personal injuries while in the course of her employment for the League Education and Treatment Center. The matter is now on the Kings County Supreme Court trial calendar. The firm previously represented the client's husband and son in unrelated separate lawsuits that resolved favorably without the need for trial.

As the client was boarding New York City Transit Bus B41 on October 6, 2017, at approximately 9:50 a.m., the driver of the MTA Bus closed the doors on her as she was boarding, which caused the bus doors to contact her shoulders and upper-body, as she screamed - the bus dragging her down the street. The client sought immediate emergency medical treatment and has been unable to work since the date of the Incident. As a result, the client sustained partial tears to both of her ankles; multiple disc herniations in her back; both left and right shoulder derangement as well as bilateral shoulder rotator cuff tears.

The injuries sustained by the client necessitated her to undergo an anterior cervical diskectomy and fusion with corpectomy, which is a surgical neck operation. She also underwent a hysterectomy. She has not worked since the accident. Transit and the MTA are self-insured.

Michael J. Redenburg represents the client in a lawsuit filed in Kings County Supreme Court and has been recognized by three (3) different organizations which are invitation only and peer reviewed. In 2014-2017 Michael Redenburg was named a SuperLawyer, NY Metro Rising Star by Thomson Reuters and no more than 2.5% of lawyers in a state are given this rating. Attorney Redenburg was also named a Top 40 Under 40 attorney by American Society of Legal Advocates ("ASLA") and ASLA limits its membership to less than 1.5% of all licensed lawyers nationwide. Additionally, in 2014-2016 Attorney Redenburg was named Top 40 Under 40 by The National Trial Lawyers, which is invitation only, based on nomination and peer reviewed.

Michael Redenburg has successfully tried numerous personal injury actions to verdict – NJ PREDFDA matters, not so much.
