The law firm of Michael J. Redenburg, Esq. PC recently resolved an auto accident case for a client, where liability was disputed and the firm's client underwent a knee arthroscopy. The client was a passenger in a car driven by her boyfriend at the time of the accident and they were traveling on a street with one lane of traffic in each direction. There was a double parked car in the lane of traffic for the car that the client was riding as a passenger in, and her boyfriend went around the double-parked car, traveling into the lane of traffic coming in the opposite direction.
As the client's boyfriend was almost completely back into his own lane of traffic after passing the double-parked car, the adverse driver heading the opposite direction clipped the car the firm's client was a passenger in. Soon after the client's case was put into suit, the insurance company for the car the client was a passenger in tendered their $25,000.00 policy, meaning that they paid the full amount of the coverage they had. Later, the insurance company for the adverse driver paid $60,000 of their policy. The adverse driver's insurance company long maintained that their driver was not at all responsible for the happening of the accident, but Attorney Michael Redenburg successfully convinced the adverse driver's insurance company claims representative that the client's boyfriend was almost completely back into his lane of traffic after passing a doubleparked car, and the adverse driver should have slowed down to allow him to get back into his lane of traffic safely.
